Group Therapy
learn about yourself
Practice building awareness of your present moment experience in an environment of respectful self-responsibility. Learn how you respond to what is emergent out of the group process.
connect with others
Group therapy is an opportunity to break out of individualism and step into vulnerability with one another. As we meet the changing world, we need practice in building relationships where we are not hiding behind our protective shields and guarding against connection.
be who you are, together
Many of us are lonely and scared, and struggling to build the community we know we need. Group therapy is a special place to strengthen our muscle of heart-to-heart connection, an opportunity to practice being who we are authentically while participating in something greater than ourselves.
Queer Forest Circle
therapy and process group for queers and allies
Group therapy is an opportunity to break out of individualism and step into vulnerability with one another. As we meet the changing world, we need practice in building relationships where we are not hiding behind our protective shields and guarding against connection.
Many of us are lonely and scared, feeling disconnected from the natural world, and struggling to build the community we know we need. Queer Forest Circle is a special place to strengthen our muscle of heart-to-heart connection, an opportunity to practice being who we are authentically while participating in something greater than ourselves.
Where: Beginning at Redwood Glen trailhead, we will walk about 10 minutes into the forest and sit in a circle on camp chairs and cushions (byo seat!). If it's rainy or smoky, we'll meet over zoom.
When: Wednesdays 3:30-5pm OR Fridays 2-3:30pm. 12 week commitment to begin, then month-to-month. The group will begin when filled.
Who: up to 8 Queers and allies.
Cost: True cost: $200/month (up to 8 spaces). Middle sliding scale: $140/month (up to 8 spaces). Low sliding scale: $80/month (3 spaces, need-based, reserved for PGM). Payment due on the 1st of each month.
This is for you if:
You want to spend more time immersed in nature
You want to feel more connected to queer community, and more trusting in your ability to connect on a deep level
You believe in the power of the collective for healing
You feel a call to be among the trees, plants, and animals we share the earth with
You've felt the loneliness of this time eating away at your soul
You're scared about how we're going to survive this time
You've been doing well in individual therapy but feel that something is just missing
You enjoy learning about yourself and have an open mind to the experiences of others
You may walk away feeling:
Confident in your capacity to connect in a real way with others
Filled up by the sweet, heartfelt connections you made in the group
Restored and held by the peace and aliveness of the forest
Empowered by the process of sharing vulnerably together
Able to be yourself with less fear and self-abandonment
A deeper connection to the trees, birds, and forest floor
Greater faith in humanity and the power of gathering collectively
t4t refuge - PAUSED
facilitated peer support group for trans* and nonbinary adults residing in California
12-week closed group occurring weekly on Tuesdays 1:00 - 2:30pm on HIPPA compliant Zoom
As anti-trans violence and hatred gathers, I believe it is vital that we create and inhabit spaces that allow us to gather ourselves, connect around shared experiences, appreciate the beautiful differences among us, and hold each other in community. The purpose of this group is to build community and connect around themes of trans and nonbinary experience.
I aim for the group to contain multitudes of difference across the spectrum and intersections of trans experience. Multiply marginalized folks are especially welcome.
Themes we may explore include:
- fear, grief, and anger related to anti-trans violence
- gender dysphoria and euphoria
- intersectional experiences of transness and transphobia
- processes of transitioning socially, medically, etc
- gender identity exploration
- navigating systems and systemic responses to trans-ness
